Step Into the Light
Many years ago, along my path of growth, I was faced with a choice. One that I had avoided for decades, pretending it was not there. I did everything I could to conceal its presence.
The choice? To face my fears and step into the unknown or remain where I was.
Stepping into the unknown brought a rush of anxiety and worry. As hellish as things were for me, the anxiety about choosing a different path remained strong. I see it now as an ugly and distorted truth, but the anger and hurt I had been masking were still “comfortable” to me. It had been my reality for so long that the idea of change was overwhelming.
In my next appointment with my life coach, I spoke as candidly as I could. I spoke of the fear that trapped me. I could pinpoint every aspect of my life that needed change. Yet there I was…frozen.
He asked me what I saw when I looked ahead. “I see darkness,” I said.
“What if your next step is stepping into the light instead?”
That was it. A solid choice that would lead to change. It had to start with my perception.
Chances are my story sounds familiar to you. I’d wager you know exactly what it is that is causing you to reach out on the internet to find help. You have the strength to face your unknown and to take those steps into the light and you don’t have to do it alone. There is light on the other side. I’ve seen it and I promise that we can discover it together for you.
